Time Travel to Old Taipei -Dadaocheng
Dadaocheng, once Taipei’s most important commercial tea trading port, is one of the very first parts of Taipei to make contact with the Western World. Traced everywhere, one can see Taipei’s historical roots. There’s architecture from southern Fujian, developing into a Baroque revival, and finally a Modernist reinterpretation. We’ll take you into the streets of Taipei from many years’ past. You’ll see various folk traditions, assortments of tea, numerous fine fabrics, old-world Chinese medicine shops, and customary local cuisines, all converging where century-old stores meet a contemporary twist.
